From early beginnings Diahanne Rhiney set out on a mission - one that no amount of excuses, however personal or circumstantial could halt. Her mission to succeed in life, nothing more and certainly nothing less.
The link between her dream and reality began when she was commissioned to model for the world’s famous modelling agency, Elite – an accolade that many could only revere. Her path of self-fulfilment has given rise to social encounters and interviews with poignant dignitaries from her ‘black book’ including June Sarpong, Chris Tucker, Tasha Danvers, the late Donda West (Kanye West’s mother), the last President of Ghana, John Kufuor and the late Coretta Scott King. It was the interview with Coretta, recalls Diahanne: “that I really appreciated the strength and courage one person could bequeath to another…Coretta was a real matriarch, her faith and cause should empower all of us to always strive to achieve something better.”
In 2004, Diahanne set up 15 Degrees, a successful marketing and public relations agency with offices in the UK, Atlanta, Ghana, and soon to be opened in Nigeria. Her portfolio of clients past and present include: Ashley Walters, Jermain Defoe, Zaraah Abrahams, Phytospecific, The African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust, BMW, Tasha Danvers (Olympic
Medallist), Great Hallingbury Manor and Rye House to name a few. Her achievements are the results of her strong determination, fearless ambition to succeed and above all her unfathomable ability to ‘live out her dreams’.
As well as being CEO of 15, Diahanne is also the appointed Trustee of Your Sanctuary a charity that provides support to families who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. She also sits on the management team of the Sharpe’s Children’s Foundation, actors from the legendary TV series Sharpe giving hope to orphaned and destitute children throughout the world. Diahanne’s innate desire to help people also stems to her voluntarily offering counselling services to young black offenders on probation as well as rape victims and under-privileged children.
Diahanne is a recognised and authoritative commentator on business success, PR, media, fashion and celebrity issues. As such she is regularly called upon to speak and present at events, conferences and academic institutes’; including Barack Obama Inauguration Celebration 2009, The European Federation of Black Women Business Owners, Black Enterprise Awards, Gospel Entertainment Music Awards, Brunel University, Wahl Awards 2009 and the Luton Young Leaders Academy Awards 2009.
In 2010, as an advocate of Black women working in media, Diahanne set up The Women of Colour Media Group, a distinguished group of ‘creative media minds’ made up of professional women of colour who work in the media industry.
It’s true to say her consistent actions to bring the dreams inside her head to the outside world, regardless of distractions or disappointments have proved successful in manifesting her hopes and desires for this life. The term ‘failure’ just does not exist in Diahanne’s vocabulary. Says Diahanne: “Stop spending your life dreaming of who or what you want to be…instead work at becoming who and what you want to be.”
Diahanne Rhiney is a typical girl-next-door success story and her devout enthusiasm from humble beginnings, running her own thriving companies, her personal life experiences of physical/emotional trauma and marriage break-up, has motivated her to channel her energy into encouraging others to build affirmations and recognise their own self-worth.
